All Covered Acquired by Konika Monolta: Options Shrink for Independent SMB-focused IT Support
Wednesday, February 02, 2011 by George Tobin
Konika Monolta, a printing and imaging services firm, acquired
All Covered on Monday, January 24th. A provider of IT Services for
small and medium sized businesses, All Covered was acquired to
extend Konika Monolta's offering to its clients -- moving away from
a hardware-based to a service-based model. In an interview with
MSPMentor about the acquisition, All Covered President Todd
Crocteau indicated All Covered's intention to go after "legal,
education, and health care verticals" following the transfer of
ownership.
On the heels of three other acquisitions in 2011, the
field of independently owned SMB-focused IT providers has shrunk
significantly. Other corporate entities, such as Xerox, are
acquiring IT providers like All Covered in a similar transition to
a service-based model. As a result, small business owners will see
their options for independent, small business focused IT Support
become rarer as corporate entities raid the marketplace.
Switchfast has been tying together the best of both worlds for
our clients for almost 10 years now -- the depth of expertise,
proactive service, and predictable pricing of a large IT company
and personal service of a small one. It's a model that has helped
us maintain a 97%+ customer retention rate as we continue to grow
organically, year after year, and it's a model that will continue
to serve our customers well in the next 10 years.
