Adobe Issues Out-of-Band PDF Updates
Wednesday, February 17, 2010 by Matt Hymel
Yesterday, Adobe released a security update to repair a few
holes that could expose hundreds of millions of computer
users.
Adobe rated the holes as "critical" and noted that they affected
Adobe Acrobat and Reader on all platforms including Windows, Mac,
and Linux.
There have not been any known exploit codes publicly available,
however.
Adobe spokesperson Wiebke Lips answered some questions about the
out-of-band update:
"Rather than waiting for the next quarterly update, Adobe
decided to make this available as an out-of-cycle update. We
decided to go out-of-cycle because of the Flash Player
vulnerability we fixed on February 11."
