Can IT Boost Your PowerPoint Creativity?

Creativity comes from several places - does it make sense using
your IT Company as an option for creative advice?
According to Forrester Research analyst Sheri McLeish, IT can
and should play a role in the development and presentation of
PowerPoint decks. She believes knowledge management's staffers have
a duty to "teach design principles, educate workers on content
restrictions, and provide visual resources (which) will improve the
accuracy and quality of everyday presentations."
Why do employees struggle with accurate and intriguing
PowerPoint decks? Most software time will be spent using e-mail
clients or MS office programs which feature pre-determined
structures of information presentation. Likewise, the
prepackaged nature of PowerPoint and Keynote turn users attention
toward structured, bullet point formats, rather than
conceptualizing the idea.
McLeish offers up these suggestions of how IT professionals can
improve the quality of your professional presentations:
- Improve visual literacy
- Provide collaboration tools for content development and slide
management
- Increase access and use of web-based tools
- Proved guidelines for content use and security
