Google’s Q2 revenue tells us where opportunity lies
Friday, July 17, 2009 by Michael Holley
Despite the saddening state of the economy, Google has reported
a 3% Q2 revenue increase over last year's numbers. Although a lot
of the increase can be attributed to cost-cutting, this news is
good for everyone. An increase in ad revenue for Google is both a
sign of increased ad budgets for companies and a sign that those
ads are proving to be profitable.
Google CEO Eric Schmidt attributes the increase to consumers turning
to the web more often to find the best deals. Above all, this
should be a call to make sure you're using the internet to your
benefit. Make sure you're website is search-optimized and user
friendly, and take advantage of the consumer shift to online
shopping!
Best,
Michael Holley
