Switchfast Blog: The Future of IT
Sometimes small changes make a big difference
Thursday, May 14, 2009 by Michael Holley
When you get used to doing things a certain way, sometimes
simple but significant improvements to your processes can slip by
under the radar.
One example of a simple improvement with a great cost to benefit
ratio is the use of dual monitors, as outlined here in the New York Times.
From my personal experience at Switchfast, I can tell you that
once you go to dual monitors, it's hard to go back. It seems like
every task I perform is less tedious. It seems like every
distraction is less distracting. I can interact with two
spreadsheets at once. I can keep my email on one side and my work
on the other, glancing at the email without having to stop working.
I'm finding so many uses for them that I'm considering purchasing
another monitor for my home computer as well!
Best,
Michael Holley
