Letter from the CEO
"Congratulations to the raffle winners from last week's
Assurance Agency Client Golf Outing. Your prizes will reach you
shortly, and we hope that you enjoy them!
We had a great time on the course and in the clubhouse, as
you might tell from our score. It's important to take a break from
the grind while forging meaningful relationships with clients and
colleagues outside of the office.
At Switchfast, we've always viewed our clients more as
business partners than customers. It's been essential to our growth
and success. Treating each client uniquely has created strong
partnerships that foster long term trust.
So here's to more golf outings (and maybe a lower score next
year)!"
Best Regards,
Matt

Windows 7 Just Around the Corner, Presale Details Leaked
Microsoft has announced that Windows 7 will officially ship on
October 22, presumably marking the end of Microsoft's nightmarish
Vista era. Microsoft boasts significant performance improvements
and an approach that Bill Gates describes as, "more
user-centric."The Windows 7 Beta has been publicly available since
January 9th of this year, and although its interface has
predictably received mixed reviews, nearly everyone agrees that it's a big improvement on Vista.
So is it finally time to upgrade those old XP systems?
The key benefit, from a business standpoint, is the expected
performance increase. Machines running Windows 7 are optimized to
boot and load programs faster, buying your workers significant
chunks of productive time over weeks of use. Although Microsoft
forbids beta testers to publish benchmark specs, one user compared the speeds of Windows XP,
Vista, and the 7 Beta as they performed various essential tasks
using a ranking system.
Another compelling argument that has arisen from the Microsoft
camp is the advent of advanced power management features that have
been added to Windows 7 to help decrease energy cost and maximize
battery life. Below is an excerpt from windows7news.com:

A Close Look Reveals Unique Pricing Opportunities for Microsoft
Office
When you go shopping for a brand new car, you have a couple
different options. You can either pay top dollar for the latest and
greatest, fresh off of the assembly line, or you can pay
significantly less for last year's model. Last year's model is
still a new product, and is likely still an improvement upon what
you currently have, it's just a lot cheaper because it no longer
represents the cutting edge.
For the next couple weeks, buyers of software from Microsoft
(specifically the Office Suite) will find themselves in a very
similar position. Microsoft has announced its intent to release
Office 2010 early next year, pushing the current latest edition,
Office 2007, out of the limelight. However, since news of next
year's release has caused so many companies to want to skip Office
2007 altogether, Microsoft is offering significant discounts and
rebates for open Office 2007 licenses through July 3rd.
The cost-conscious buyer that doesn't mind having a slightly out
of date model will view this as an opportunity to make a
long-awaited upgrade at what is most likely the best price that
will ever be available, all the while assuming that when the next
iteration of Office comes out, a similar discount will be offered
on Office 2010.
However, the cost-conscious buyer who reads the fine print finds
what may be an even more attractive proposition...
